At Maple Ridge Snorkies, our mission is to raise healthy, loving, naturally reared companions with purpose, integrity, and lifelong support. We are committed to breeding small family dogs with sound temperaments, strong genetics, and a foundation rooted in natural health and holistic care.
Our puppies are raised in a home environment with intentional socialization, raw nutrition, natural immunity support, and species-appropriate care from the very beginning. We believe dogs thrive best when raised as naturally as possible — with real food, clean living, emotional connection, and thoughtful, minimal-intervention wellness practices whenever possible.
We focus on supporting the body naturally first while recognizing that emergency veterinary care has an important place when truly needed. Our goal is always to make informed, balanced decisions that prioritize the long-term health and well-being of our dogs.
We are dedicated not only to producing beautiful companions, but to preserving the bond between dogs and families through education, transparency, and ongoing breeder support throughout the life of every puppy we place.

Our Story
How Our Journey Began:
Hi, and thank you for visiting Maple Ridge Snorkies! We are Scott and Martine Jenkins. We are small-scale, home-based breeders passionate about the Snorkie — a delightful mix of Miniature Schnauzer and Yorkshire Terrier.
Our journey into natural rearing began already knowing we did not want a vaccinated dog. We were able to work with the breeders and they agreed to not vaccinate the puppy we chose. Shortly after bringing Rusty home he came down with Parvo. That started us on our natural rearing journey. We jumped on the Internet looking for an online Vet to help us as well as find any other source. We found Dr. Jessica Levy who is a holistic veterinarian and she walked us through this scary time as well as having the knowledgeable help of the breeder. After Rusty recovered we set an appointment to meet with the vet and have Rusty checked over. She set us on our path of natural rearing, raw feeding, non vaxing, chemical free life for our precious Rusty. We were so impressed by how intelligent, attentive, affectionate, playful, intuitive and communicative he is that we thought anyone looking for a small dog should have a Snorkie! We reached out to the breeder and got another amazing Snorkie pup, our beautiful Hennessy. Learning about Natural Rearing gave us the desire to raise our dogs and future puppies in alignment with nature: clean food, natural immunity, and a life free of unnecessary chemicals. Our dogs are cherished family members first and foremost, and every puppy is raised underfoot in our home with hands-on care and love because until they become a cherished member of your family they are a cherished member of ours!
Our goal is to produce Snorkie puppies with excellent health, loving temperaments, and strong genetics — all supported by a natural start in life.
Who We're Looking For

At Maple Ridge Snorkies, our puppies are not simply pets — they are beloved family members raised with intention, respect for nature, and a commitment to holistic living from the very beginning.
Because of this, we are very selective about the homes we choose for our puppies.
We are looking for families and individuals who understand, who are willing to learn, and will embrace the principles of natural rearing and who are willing to continue the foundation we have carefully built for each puppy.
Our Ideal Homes Will:
• Feed a species-appropriate raw carnivore diet
• Avoiding unnecessary chemicals in food, cleaning products, lawn care, and daily living
• Avoiding pharmaceutical vaccinations
• Supporting the body naturally through nutrition, fresh air, sunshine, exercise, and holistic care
• Raising dogs as cherished family companions — not outdoor pets or kennel dogs
• Respecting the importance of natural immunity and informed health decisions
• Providing lifelong commitment, patience, training, and love
Our Puppies Are Raised With:
• Raw feeding from weaning onward
• Chemical-conscious living practices
• Early socialization and enrichment
• Natural rearing principles
• Holistic-minded support and care
• Deep daily interaction within our home and family
These Puppies Will NOT Be the Right Fit For Homes That:
• Plan to feed kibble or heavily processed diets
• Prefer routine pharmaceutical interventions
• Use chemical lawn treatments, synthetic fragrances, air fresheners, pesticides, or harsh cleaners inside the home
• View dogs as disposable, temporary, or primarily outdoor animals
• Are unwilling to continue the natural lifestyle foundation we have started
Our Goal
Our goal is not simply to place puppies quickly — it is to create lifelong matches between our naturally reared puppies and families who share similar values, priorities, and respect for raising dogs in alignment with nature.
We understand that natural rearing is not the mainstream approach, and we fully respect that every family must make decisions they believe are best. We simply ask that families seeking one of our puppies genuinely understand and support the lifestyle these puppies have been raised with from birth.
